Successful implementation of the partners’ project of PAENPR and SOS Entrepreneurs Foundation

Association Professional Association “European and National Development Programs” (PAENPR) in partnership with the Foundation “SOS Entrepreneurs” successfully implemented a project under a grant agreement № BG05SFOP001-2.009-0118-C03 “Increasing civic participation in the process of formulation, implementation and Monitoring of Competitiveness and Innovation Policies ”, funded by the Operational Program“ Good Governance ”2014-2020.

The Professional Association “European and National Development Programs” and the SOS Entrepreneurs Foundation are non-profit organizations for public benefit, setting goals related to promoting civic participation and assisting the state administration in the process of formulating and implementing public policies and the creation of a well-regulated transparent environment for the implementation of public policies.

In the framework of a project under a grant agreement № BG05SFOP001-2.009-0118-C03 “Increasing citizen participation in the process of formulation, implementation and monitoring of policies in the field of competitiveness and innovation”, funded by OP “Good Governance” 2014- In 2020, the two organizations successfully organized and implemented the following main activities:

  1. A study was conducted related to the analysis of the current situation and the study of good practices and innovative solutions, and the formulation of recommendations for improving citizen participation in the processes of formulating, implementing and monitoring policies in the field of competitiveness and innovation.
  2. Detailed mechanisms and tools have been developed for the participation of citizens and businesses in the formulation and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the administration’s policies and decisions in the field of competitiveness and innovation.
  3. A one-day training was conducted for the employees and members of the applicant and the partner related to improving citizen participation in the processes of formulating, implementing and monitoring policies in the field of competitiveness and innovation.
  4. An information campaign was organized and conducted in order to raise public awareness of the mechanisms and tools for civic participation in the processes of formulating, implementing and monitoring policies in the field of competitiveness and innovation.
  5. A round table discussion was organized and conducted with stakeholders in the field of competitiveness and innovation policies.

The successful implementation of the project directly contributed to the achievement of real partnership management between the administration, citizens and business, more open and responsible management, and a better regulatory environment, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of competitiveness and innovation policies.

The following specific products were prepared within the project implementation:

1) Report on the implementation of Activity 1 of the project: “Analysis of the current situation, study of good practices and innovative solutions and formulation of recommendations for improving citizen participation in the processes of formulation, implementation and monitoring of competitiveness and innovation policies” .
